2010 Essay Contest
The Redlands Optimists held their annual
Student Essay Award luncheon last
Thursday to honor this year’s winners.
Area students Nicole Sinske from
Beaumont (3rd), Kaitlyn Nelson from
Redlands (2nd), and Ryan Molton from
Highland (1st) attended the luncheon with
their parents and read their winning
essays to the attendees. This year’s topic
was The Internet: Today’s Evolution or
Tomorrow’s Menace, which was
addressed in 500 words by the entrants.
The winners were given medals and cash
awards, as well as a certificate from the
Redlands Chapter. Ryan Molton’s first
place essay is also eligible for competition
at the regional level covering all of Inland
Southern California.
